2021 Chevrolet Tahoe for Sale in Johnston, RI
The three-row Chevrolet Tahoe has been redesigned for the 2021 model year. While it’s still built on the same pickup truck platform as the Silverado 1500 and Suburban, it gets a completely new exterior and an overhauled cabin. It’s also nearly 7 inches longer than before, yielding an overall length of 210 inches and a wheelbase that measures 120.9 inches. This translates to more room on the inside, improving occupant comfort and cargo space. To top it off, the 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe will be host to a new late-availability diesel engine option and new technology features, such as a standard 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system that extends from the dashboard.
Trims and Powertrains
The 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe is sold in six trim levels: LS, LT, RST, Z71, Premier, and High Country. It also offers more powertrain choices than any of its full-sized SUV competitors. The engine lineup includes a 355 hp (383 lb.-ft. of torque) 5.3-liter V8 that’s standard for all trims but the High Country, a 420 hp (460 lb.-ft. of torque) 6.2-liter V8 for the High Country, and a 277 hp (460 lb.-ft. of torque) 3.0-liter turbo-diesel engine that’s optional for all trims except the Z71. They all get a 10-speed automatic transmission and standard rear-wheel drivetrain, except for the Z71, which gets a standard four-wheel drivetrain. This 4WD system is optional on the other trims, though.
The 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe is built to tow, with a maximum capacity between 7,600 lb. and 8,400 lb., depending on the trim and configuration. Thanks to the new independent rear suspension and larger dimensions, the 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe provides up to 122.9 cu. ft of cargo space. Also, the available power-sliding center console will add more interior storage for smaller stuff in a convenient spot.
The base LS comes with LED headlights and taillights, heated side mirrors, 18-inch wheels, keyless entry and ignition, eight-passenger seating (a front-row bench seat is available to provide nine total seats), and a rearview camera. The LT adds a hands-free liftgate, a wireless device charger, leather-appointed heated front seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and a power-adjustable driver’s seat with memory functions. The RST delivers 22-inch wheels, black interior and exterior accents, and special RST badges and emblems. The Z71 provides extra off-road capabilities with a high-approach-angle front fascia, a two-speed transfer case, hill descent control, 20-inch wheels with all-terrain tires, a front skid plate, and red tow hooks.
The Premier ups the ante with a heated steering wheel, heated and ventilated front seats, and heated second-row bucket seats (this drops the seating capacity to seven). The High Country gets 22-inch wheels, a 15-inch head-up display, and a surround-view camera system. Several features that are standard on the higher trims are available as options on the lower ones. Other notable options include a Max Trailering Package and a panoramic sunroof. There are also two suspension setups to choose from: an adaptive suspension (which General Motors calls Magnetic Ride Control) that automatically adjusts to improve ride comfort and handling, and an adaptive air suspension (for the Z71 and High Country only) that’s capable of adjusting the vehicle’s ride height.
The 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe packs in quite a bit of standard active safety equipment, with forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian braking, a following distance indicator, and rear park assist included on the lower trims. The Premier adds front and rear park assist, lane change alert with side blind-zone alert, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, and rear cross-traffic alert. The High Country is the only trim that gets a rear pedestrian alert system as standard. Adaptive cruise control is offered for the Premier and High Country.
The LS is furnished with a new dashboard-mounted 10.2-inch infotainment touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth hands-free and audio streaming capability, USB data ports for the front and rear occupants, a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, and a six-speaker audio system. The LT upgrades to Chevy’s Infotainment 3 Plus system with voice recognition, satellite and HD radio, and a premium nine-speaker Bose audio system. The Premier receives an 8-inch digital instrument cluster, integrated navigation, and a premium 10-speaker Bose audio system.
