GMC will continue offering the Hummer EV Pickup and SUV in 2X and 3X trims for 2026. The 2X will get dual electric motors producing an estimated 570 horsepower and 7,400 lb.-ft. of torque, while the 3X will add a third motor, resulting in approximately 830 horsepower and 11,500 lb.-ft. of torque.
The upcoming Carbon Fiber Edition, available only on the 3X, will be the most powerful Hummer EV. An available 24-module battery pack will enable this special edition to produce up to 1,160 horsepower and 13,000 lb.-ft. of torque. GMC claims that this configuration will be able to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.8 seconds, making it the quickest Hummer EV to date and one of the fastest production vehicles on the planet.
Although the official EPA ratings for the 2026 Hummer EV have not been announced as of this writing, the range estimates are likely to remain similar to the 2025 numbers. That means the 2X should provide approximately 315 miles and the 3X around 312 miles on a complete charge. The optional larger battery pack on the 3X will likely extend the range to 381 miles. All variants will support DC fast charging, accumulating about 100 miles of range in approximately 12 minutes under peak charging conditions.
The major technology addition for 2026 will be the new King Crab drive mode, which GMC describes as a software-enabled feature that makes the rear wheels turn significantly faster than the front wheels during off-road situations. This mode will be standard on all 2026 Hummer EVs and will also be available to existing Hummer EV owners through an over-the-air update.
We look forward to a few Super Cruise enhancements, including improved integration with Google Maps for better route navigation and lane positioning. The system will likely add a feature that keeps the vehicle centered in its lane while adapting to traffic speed. A notable convenience improvement will be automatic hands-free activation when the vehicle enters a Super Cruise-capable road, indicated by the steering wheel lightbar turning green.
Bidirectional charging capability will be a significant new feature, allowing the 2026 Hummer EV to transfer power to other compatible electric vehicles or provide backup power to homes during outages (with the proper equipment). This vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality will require optional hardware.
The limited-production Carbon Fiber Edition will be available on both the pickup and SUV body styles. Beyond the exclusive paint and interior treatments, this variant will be differentiated by 22-inch carbon-fiber wheels, all-terrain tires, a carbon-fiber skid plate and mirror caps, black emblems, and a black approach shield. The pickup version will add a power tonneau cover in black.
GMC will likely carry over the comprehensive suite of driver-assist features from the current edition, including forward collision alert, automatic emergency braking, lane change alert with blind-zone monitoring, adaptive cruise control, and the full Super Cruise hands-free driving system. We anticipate that the semi-autonomous parking assistance and surround-view monitor will remain standard equipment across the lineup.
