GMC offers two versions of the 2025 Hummer EV SUV: the potent 2X and the hyper-powerful 3X. The all-wheel-drive (AWD) 2X features a dual electric motor drivetrain, making a GM-estimated 570 horsepower and 7,400 lb.-ft. of torque. The 3X receives a third motor (added to rear axle), which increases total output to an estimated 830 horsepower and 11,500 lb.-ft. of torque.
Both trims receive their power from an advanced 20-module high-voltage battery pack, translating into EPA-estimated range of 315 miles for the 2X and 312 for the 3X. The combined MPGe (miles per gallon equivalent) ratings are 59 for the 2X and 58 for the 3X. Drivers can expect to add about 100 miles of range for every 12 minutes of Level 3/DC fast charging at peak capacity. Charging rates change to 7 to 40 miles per hour for Level 2 (240-volt) and 2 to 4 miles per hour at Level 1 (120-volt).
A properly equipped 2025 Hummer EV SUV can be expected to tow as much as last year’s edition – up to 7,500 pounds. Cargo capacity ranges from 35.9 cubic feet behind the second row to 81.8 cubic feet behind the first row. The front trunk has 11.3 cubic feet of storage space.
The array of standard features reflects equipment that makes the Hummer EV SUV unique. These amenities include an Infinity Roof with removable opaque Sky Panels, CrabWalk four-wheel steering (for increased low-speed maneuverability), a power hood (to access the front trunk), and a swinging rear gate. Reinforcing this vehicle’s luxury classification are an adaptive air-ride suspension, remote start, 12-way power front seats that are heated and ventilated, a heated steering wheel, tri-zone automatic climate control, wireless device charging, a power tilt-and-telescopic steering column, a digital rearview mirror, and a driver’s memory system. Both trims also get proximity keyless entry, push-button start, LED exterior lighting, a 12.3-inch digital instrument display, heated power side mirrors with power-fold, rain-sensing windshield wipers, leatherette upholstery, two USB ports, and 22-inch aluminum wheels.
The innovative Watts to Freedom feature differentiates the 3X from the 2X. It enables the Hummer EV SUV to accelerate to 60 mpg in 3.5 seconds while dropping the suspension two full inches. The 3X also gets unique 22-inch wheels.
The 2025 Hummer EV SUV encompasses numerous advanced driver assistance technologies, such as forward collision alert, enhanced automatic emergency braking, lane change alert with side blind-zone alert, trailer side blind-zone alert, rear cross-traffic alert, lane keep assist with lane departure warning, semi-autonomous parking assistance, adaptive cruise control, rear pedestrian alert, and GM’s Safety Alert Seat (the driver’s seat vibrates for specific safety notifications). Both trims also have a surround-view monitor, a following distance indicator, rear seat reminder, and Super Cruise hands-free highway driving. Their other standard safety equipment includes six airbags, anti-lock brakes, stability control, traction control, and a rearview monitor.
The Hummer EV SUV features a high-resolution 13.4-inch touchscreen to manage an infotainment system with Google built-in (this includes access to Google Maps, Google Assistant, and other popular apps). The platform is enhanced with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, SiriusXM satellite radio, Bluetooth, and access to a Wi-Fi hotspot and OnStar remote services. A Bose audio system with 14 speakers also comes standard.
