Trims and Powertrains

All five trims – the LS, 1RS, LT, ACTIV, and 2RS – have a 1.2-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine that creates 137 horsepower. Power is sent to the front wheels through a six-speed automatic transmission, which is widely considered superior to the increasingly common continuously variable transmission (CVT) found in most of the Trax’s competitors. According to the EPA’s official fuel economy determinations, all trims return 28 mpg around town and 32 mpg on the highway.

Standard Features

The LS has the typical features of a base trim, such as cloth upholstery, manually adjustable bucket seats (6-way driver’s, 4-way passenger’s), a 3.5-inch driver display, manual climate control, a 12-volt power outlet, two USB ports, remote keyless entry, a manual liftgate, a 60/40 split-folding rear seat, a tilt and telescopic steering column, LED daytime running lamps, active noise cancellation, and 17-inch steel wheels. The available LS Convenience Package will furnish heated front seats, carpeted rear floor mats, remote start, body-colored heated power outer mirrors, and 17-inch silver aluminum wheels.

The 1RS has heated front seats, a heated wrapped flat-bottomed steering wheel, remote start, a black grille insert, black bowtie emblems (front and rear), a red RS badge in the front grille and back end, heated power outside mirrors, and 18-inch black machined aluminum wheels. The LT is equipped like the LS but with the addition of an 8-inch driver information center, automatic climate control, Evotex upholstery, two more USB ports, silver front and rear lower fascia, signature LED daytime running lights, roof-mounted side rails, and 17-inch machined-aluminum wheels. Buyers can add the LT Convenience Package for heated front seats, keyless entry, a heated and wrapped steering wheel, and body-colored heated power outer mirrors. There’s an available Blackout Package for the LS and LT that will outfit black bowtie emblems in the front and rear, and a black Trax nameplate.

The ACTIV trim gets the Evotex upholstery along with an 8-way power driver’s seat with two-way lumbar support, heated front seats, a black grille with chromed titanium accents, black bowtie emblems (front and rear), and 18-inch black aluminum wheels. The 2RS builds on the 1RS with heated front seats, Evotex upholstery, and 19-inch machined aluminum wheels in black. All trims but the LS are eligible for the optional Sunroof Package, which consists of a power sunroof plus wireless device charging (except for the 1RS).

Advanced Driver Aids and Safety Technology

The Chevy Safety Assist system of advanced driver-assist technologies comes installed on every Trax. Its components are automatic emergency braking, a following distance indicator, an HD rear-vision camera, forward collision alert, lane keep assist, front pedestrian braking, lane departure warning, automatic high-beam headlights, the Teen Driver system, and a rear seat reminder. An available Driver Confidence Package adds rear park assist, lane change alert, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control (LT, ACTIV, and 2RS only).

Infotainment and Connectivity

The base infotainment system in the ’25 Trax has an 8-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, SiriusXM satellite radio, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and a four-speaker sound system. The LT, ACTIV, and 2RS are upgraded with an 11-inch screen and an additional pair of speakers.
