SUV shoppers can choose from six 2025 Tahoe trims: LS, LT, RST, Z71, Premier, and High Country. Most grades come with standard rear-wheel drive (RWD), with four-wheel drive being optional and included with the Z71. A 355-horsepower 5.3-liter V8 handles the engine duties for most 2025 Tahoes, while a 420-horsepower 6.2-liter V8 is standard with the High Country and optional on the RST, Z71, and Premier. All trims except the Z71 are available with the 305-horsepower 3.0-liter inline-six Duramax Turbo-Diesel. A ten-speed automatic transmission manages all Tahoe powertrains.
Maximum trailering capacity ranges from 7,600 to 8,400 pounds, depending on the powertrain. Cargo capacity starts at 25.5 cubic feet behind the third row and expands to 72.5 cubic feet behind the second row. Behind the first row, the 2025 Tahoe offers 122.7 cubic feet. For RWD-equipped Tahoes, both V8 engines are EPA-rated to return 15 mpg around town and 20 mpg on the open road. With 4WD, the 5.3-liter V8 is estimated at 15 mpg in the city and 19 mpg on the highway. The 6.3-liter/4WD combination changes the fuel economy to 14 city/18 highway. Chevrolet hasn’t released the ratings for the Duramax Turbo-Diesel engine.
The LS is unique in that it can be configured with a first-row bench for three, allowing for a total passenger capacity of nine. The alternative is a pair of power-adjustable front bucket seats (ten ways for the driver and eight for the passenger). Other than that, this base trim goes beyond the basics with remote start, tri-zone automatic climate control, proximity keyless entry, heated power side mirrors, an 11-inch driver information display, automatic rain-sensing windshield wipers, rear air conditioning, and LED exterior lighting with automatic headlamps. It also gets fabric upholstery, push-button ignition, rear privacy glass, roof-mounted side rails, a wrapped steering wheel, a tilt-and-telescopic steering column, assist steps, a cargo management system, two 120-volt AC power outlets, six USB ports (two per row), and 18-inch aluminum wheels. The LT adds several enhancements, including leather upholstery, heated front seats, a power liftgate, a driver’s memory system, and wireless device charging.
The off-road-oriented Z71 adds capability with a two-speed transfer case, front and rear skid plates, a unique front fascia with a high-approach angle, LED fog lights, hill descent control, and 20-inch wheels. For comfort and convenience, its amenities are similar to the LT’s. The RST doesn’t get the off-road attributes but expands on the LT with an upgraded suspension, perforated leather upholstery, unique black-finish exterior accents, LED fog lights, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and 22-inch wheels.
The Premier is clearly upscale with heated and ventilated front seats, heated second-row outboard seats, a heated steering wheel, GM’s magnetic ride control suspension, second-row captain’s chairs (for a total passenger capacity of seven), power-folding second- and third-row seats, a power-sliding center console, animated LED headlamps, heated power side mirrors (power-folding with driver’s-side auto-dimming), a power tilt-and-telescopic steering column, and 20-inch wheels. The High Country adds a head-up display, a digital rearview mirror, a rear camera mirror washer, unique exterior accents, wood interior trim, and 22-inch wheels.
Chevy Safety Assist is standard across the 2025 Tahoe trim range and includes forward collision alert, automatic emergency braking (including intersection support), front pedestrian and bicyclist braking, lane keep assist with lane departure warning, blind-zone steering assist, reverse automatic braking, rear cross-traffic braking, rear pedestrian alert, side bicyclist alert, a following distance indicator, and automatic high beams. All trims also get adaptive cruise control, a surround-view monitor, semi-autonomous parking assist, front and rear parking sensors, GM’s Safety Alert Seat (the driver’s seat vibrates for certain safety notifications), Teen Driver technology, and rear seat reminder. Super Cruise hands-free highway driving is optional on the Premier and High Country.
New trailering technologies make it easier to tow with the Tahoe. These features include Trailer Tire Health (to minimize trailer tire blowouts, Mobile Trailering App Load Rating Info (to access the vehicle’s load rating), and Forward Path Indication (to assist with trailer navigation). A set of airbags and anti-lock brakes are standard, as are stability control, traction control, hill start assist, and a rearview monitor.
A 17.7-inch infotainment touchscreen (standard across all trims) is a hallmark of the 2025 Tahoe. The system incorporates wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Google built-in services (e.g., Google Maps and Google Assistant), Bluetooth, SiriusXM satellite radio, and natural voice recognition. All trims also come with access to a 5G Wi-Fi hotspot and OnStar/Chevrolet connected services. A six-speaker audio system is standard in most trims, while a ten-speaker Bose upgrade is available for the LT, RST, and Z71 and standard for the Premier and High Country.
