Chevy’s simplified Equinox EV lineup translates into two trim choices for 2025: LT and RS. Front-wheel drive (FWD) is the standard configuration via a single 220-horsepower electric motor – a seven-horsepower bump over last year. The available all-wheel-drive (AWD) system adds an electric motor to the rear axle, increasing combined output to 300 horsepower (a 12-horsepower increase from 2024).
With FWD, the Equinox EV carries an EPA-estimated range of 319 miles, which changes to 285 miles with AWD. Charging at Level 2/240 volts adds 36 miles of range per hour at 11.5 kW, while Level 3/DC fast charging increases range by 77 miles for every 10 minutes of 150 kW charging. The Equinox EV offers 26.4 cubic feet of cargo space behind the second row or 57.2 cubic feet behind the front seats. It can tow up to 1,500 pounds with the proper equipment.
The LT’s equipment list includes LED exterior lighting, single-zone automatic climate control, fabric upholstery, an 11-inch driver information display, proximity keyless entry, rear privacy glass, power side mirrors, a tilt-and-telescopic steering column, four USB ports (two per row), and 19-inch wheels. The RS adds numerous comfort and convenience amenities, such as Evotex leatherette upholstery, heated front seats, wireless device charging, a heated flat-bottomed steering wheel, an eight-way power driver’s seat, a hands-free power liftgate, heated power side mirrors, a center light bar (on the front end), roof-mounted side rails, adjustable ambient cabin lighting, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and 21-inch black-finish wheels with self-sealing tires.
Chevy presents a few upgrade packages that can be added to boost the amenities on both trims. The Comfort Package gives the LT heated front seats, a heated flat-bottomed steering wheel, and an eight-way power driver’s seat. Meanwhile, the Convenience Package upgrades the LT with additional driver’s seat power controls, a hands-free power liftgate, trailering features, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror.
The LT and RS are both eligible for the Convenience Package II, which includes heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear outboard seats, a driver’s memory system, a six-way power front passenger seat, dual-zone automatic climate control, a head-up display, EvoTex leatherette upholstery (LT), enhanced exterior lighting, a heated wiper park, a rear camera mirror with washer, and 21-inch wheels (LT). A dual-pane power sunroof is optional on both trims.
All 2025 Equinox EVs have Chevy Safety Assist with forward collision alert, automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian braking, blind-zone steering assist, rear cross-traffic braking, lane keep assist with lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, a following distance indicator, automatic high beams, and rear parking sensors. The Active Safety Package 2 is standard on the RS and optional for the LT. It includes a surround-view monitor, enhanced lane keep assist (with lane departure warning), intersection automatic emergency braking, side bicyclist alert, rear pedestrian alert, traffic sign recognition, and reverse automatic braking. Both trims are available with the Active Safety Package 3, adding Super Cruise hands-free highway driving and semi-autonomous parking. Every Equinox EV also comes with a rearview monitor, a set of airbags, anti-lock brakes, stability control, and traction control.
A 17.7-inch touchscreen is the control center for the Equinox EV’s advanced infotainment system. The platform incorporates Google built-in features for ready access to Google Maps, Google Assistant, and other popular apps. Both trims have a six-speaker sound system, SiriusXM satellite radio, and subscription-based access to a 5G Wi-Fi hotspot and OnStar services.
