There are two core trims for the 2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV – the 2X and the 3X – which refer to the number of electric motors. In addition, there’s the 3X Omega Limited Edition. The 2X features two electric motors (one per axle), which together put out a GMC-estimated 625 combined horsepower and 7,400 lb.-ft. of torque. Powering the 2X is a 20-module Ultium high-voltage battery pack. The EPA-estimated range for the 2X is 303 miles. The 3X uses the same Ultium battery arrangement and a tri-motor configuration (including two rear motors), making an estimated 830 horsepower and 11,500 lb.-ft. of torque. The 3X and 3X Omega Limited have an estimated range of 314 miles.
Charging time for the 2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV varies. A Level 3/DC fast charger operating at peak performance will add about 100 miles of range in 12 minutes. Charging via a Level 2/240-volt charger adds 7 to 40 miles per hour, depending on the output level. A Level 1/120-volt charging adds 2 to 4 miles per hour. The 2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV can tow up to 7,500 pounds when it’s properly equipped. There is 35.9 cubic feet of cargo space behind the second row and 81.8 cubic feet behind the front seats.
The roster of standard equipment for the Hummer EV SUV is extensive, as you’d expect from a premium vehicle. Some of the prominent features for the 2X include the Infinity Roof with removable opaque Sky Panels, an adaptive air ride suspension, CrabWalk four-wheel steering (for increased low-speed maneuverability), a power hood (to access the eTrunk) and swing gate, 12-way power front seats (heated and ventilated), a heated steering wheel, leatherette upholstery, remote start, and a driver’s position memory system. This edition also gets LED exterior lighting, proximity keyless entry, push-button start, heated power-adjustable/power-folding side mirrors, tri-zone automatic climate control, rain-sensing windshield wipers, a 12.3-inch digital instrument display, a power tilt-and-telescoping steering column, a digital rearview mirror, two USB ports, wireless device charging, and 22-inch aluminum wheels.
The 3X gets a few key upgrades besides the tri-motor powertrain, including Watts To Freedom (the high-performance feature that lowers the suspension and enables the Hummer EV SUV to reach 60 mph in 3.5 seconds) and a different design for its 22-inch aluminum wheels. The 3X Omega Limited Edition gets 18-inch gloss-black beadlock wheels and adds transparent Sky Panels for the Infinity Roof, eligibility for Neptune Blue Matte exterior paint with a matching spare tire cover, plus some unique exterior accents.
