The 2024 Hummer EV Pickup is a four-wheel-drive electric supertruck that’s offered in three trim packages: 2X, 3X, and 3X Omega Edition. An Edition 1 trim positioned between the 3X and 3X Omega Edition will be offered later.
The 2X gets the dual-motor Ultium Drive System, which puts out a stalwart 625 horsepower and 7,400 lb.-ft. of torque. The 3X and 3X Omega Edition have the truly jaw-dropping output, though, with the three-motor Ultium Drive System; it produces a class-leading 1,000 horsepower and 11,500 lb.-ft. of torque.
To achieve the Hummer EV Pickup’s remarkable 0-to-60 mph time of 3.0 seconds, buyers must opt for the 24-module battery pack and the Watts to Freedom launch control mode, which lowers the air suspension by 2 inches to optimize aerodynamics. With the upcoming 20-module battery pack, the Watts to Freedom drive mode will enable a still-impressive 0-to-60 mph time of 3.5 seconds.
The 2024 Hummer EV Pickup offers a choice between the standard 20-module battery pack and the available 24-module battery pack (standard in the 3X and 3X Omega Edition). Both support 240V Level 2 charging up to 19.2 kW and 800V DC fast charging up to 350 kW. The 2X has a range of 311 miles, while the 3X extends this to 381 miles. The 3X Omega Edition has a slightly lower estimated range of 359 miles since it’s equipped with the Extreme Off-Road Package.
The ’24 Hummer EV Pickup also comes with One-Pedal Driving and Regen on Demand. One-Pedal Driving allows you to control acceleration and deceleration using only the accelerator pedal, converting the kinetic energy from braking into power for the battery. Conversely, Regen on Demand lets you control the degree of regeneration using the steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters.
Despite being the base trim, the 2X is packed with premium features. The interior boasts leatherette upholstery, heated and ventilated power-adjustable front seats with driver’s position memory, 60/40-split heated rear outboard seats, a heated power tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel, and tri-zone automatic climate control. Some additional standard conveniences include push-button ignition, wireless phone charging, a HomeLink universal garage door opener, a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, a 120V power outlet, and multiple USB data and charging ports.
On the exterior, the 2X receives the Infinity Roof with removable opaque Sky Panels, a removable I-Bar, rain-sensing windshield wipers, heated power-folding side mirrors, and an array of LED lights (headlights, front light bar, daytime running lights, taillights, and amber-hued roof marker lights). The power-operated eTrunk at the front of the vehicle provides storage for the Infinity Roof Sky Panels. At the rear, the innovative six-function MultiPro tailgate opens to a versatile cargo bed featuring a 120V power outlet, LED lights, and an array of cargo tie-down points.
On the performance front, the 2X is equipped with an adaptive air ride suspension with Extract Mode (which can raise the vehicle up to 6 inches for added clearance), a real-time damping suspension, selectable drive modes with a Tow/Haul setting, 22-inch wheels with Goodyear Wrangler Territory all-terrain tires, and frame-mounted D-ring front recovery hooks. Electronic four-wheel precision steering with CrabWalk is standard as well, enhancing maneuverability in a variety of environments.
While the 2X is definitely a force to be reckoned with, the 3X takes it to another level with the exhilarating Watts to Freedom drive mode, which lowers the vehicle by two inches, provides sound and haptic feedback through the driver’s seat, displays unique visuals on the 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, and achieves a 0-to-60 mph time of just three seconds. At the top of the lineup, the 3X Omega Edition includes the contents of the Extreme Off-Road Package, plus Neptune Blue Matte paint, black exterior badges, transparent Sky Panels, gloss-black 18-inch beadlock-capable wheels, and high-lux carpeted flooring inserts.
Every trim level of the Hummer EV Pickup is outfitted with a suite of active driving aids. These standard technologies include forward collision alert with automatic emergency braking, reverse automatic braking, front pedestrian braking, rear pedestrian alert, an HD surround-view camera, rear seat reminder, lane keep assist with lane departure warning, lane change alert with side blind-zone alert, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic parking assist, and a following distance indicator. The Hummer EV Pickup also has trailer side blind-zone alert and Hitch Guidance with Hitch View for ensuring a seamless towing experience. All trims come with a three-year trial for GM’s Super Cruise driving system, which allows for hands-free travel on more than 400,000 miles of compatible roadways in the U.S. and Canada.
The ‘24 Hummer EV Pickup gets a sophisticated Google built-in infotainment system that’s controlled via a 13.4-inch touchscreen or voice recognition. Along with Google Assistant, Google Maps, and access to Google Play store, this setup includes wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, SiriusXM satellite radio, a 14-speaker Bose audio system with CenterPoint surround sound, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and Bluetooth hands-free phone and audio streaming. The 3X Omega Edition also gets a MultiPro tailgate sound system powered by KICKER.
The 2024 GMC Hummer EV Pickup is eligible for a series of upgrade packages that add even more capability and amenities. The Extreme Off-Road Package (available for all trims) includes underbody skid plates, electronically locking front and rear differentials, front and rear underbody cameras, rear D-ring recovery hooks, rocker protectors with assist steps, and 18-inch wheels with Goodyear Wrangler Territory all-terrain tires. Buyers can also opt for the Lifestyle Adventure Package, which bundles an 80-inch tent by Freespirit Recreation and an adjustable truck rack by Advantage.
The Illumination Package will supply front off-road auxiliary lights, side mirror projection lights displaying the Hummer EV logo, accessory touchscreen control switches, ambient interior footwell lighting, and MultiPro tailgate step lighting. The Interior Storage Package contains a console-mounted safe, an underseat organizer, I-Bar storage, a Sky Panel storage set for the eTrunk, and a swing-out toolbox by Undercover.
