Chevrolet showcases the Equinox in four trims: LS, LT, RS, and Premier. They all include a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that makes 175 horsepower; it pairs with a six-speed automatic transmission. This Chevy crossover lets buyers select either the standard front-wheel drive or available all-wheel drive. It can tow up to 3,500 pounds with the proper equipment.
The FWD version of the 2024 Equinox has been estimated by the EPA to achieve 26 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway. These numbers only drop slightly with for the AWD version: 24 city/30 highway.
The LS includes a 3.5-inch driver information center, two 12-volt power outlets, premium cloth seating, 2 USB ports, a fold-flat rear 60/40-split seat, LED headlamps, and 17-inch aluminum wheels. The available LS Convenience Package adds an eight-way driver’s seat with two-way power lumbar support, deep-tinted rear glass, and an upgraded 4.2-inch multi-color driver information center. The LT gets the 4.2-inch multi-color driver information screen standard along with dual-zone automatic climate control, and an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat. The optional Blackout Package changes the styling a bit by making the front and rear bowtie emblems and the mirror caps black.
The RS offers a sporty look with a gloss-black mesh grille and surround, black bowtie badging, body-color inserts, gloss-black roof rails, black cloth seating with red stitching, a black headliner, LED taillights, and 19-inch dark aluminum wheels. The Premier has heated front seats, leather upholstery, a 120-volt power outlet, a heated steering wheel, wireless device charging, and 18-inch aluminum wheels.
The LT, RS, and Premier are eligible for the Hit the Roof Package, which furnishes roof-rack cross rails and molded assist steps. The Cargo Package is available for all four trims to add a vertical cargo net and retractable cargo shade. The LS and LT Chrome Package is available for those respective trims to receive chrome mirror caps, a unique chrome grille with chrome surround, front and rear black bowtie emblems, and a bright rear bumper protector.
All 2024 Equinox trims have the Chevy Safety Assist suite installed. This important driver-assist technology grouping contains forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, forward automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane-keep assist, rear seat alert, and automatic high-beams. Also standard are a rearview monitor and the Teen Driver system, which helps the newly licensed develop good habits behind the wheel.
The Driver Confidence II Package is offered as an option for all trim levels. It will add front and rear park assist, blind-spot monitoring, and rear-cross traffic alert. The Premier is eligible for the Driver Confidence III Package, which includes a high-definition surround-vision camera, adaptive cruise control, and automatic parking assist.
The LS gets a 7-inch color infotainment touchscreen for managing the Chevy Infotainment 3 system’s six-speaker sound system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Wi-Fi hotspot, and Bluetooth. The available Infotainment Package for the LT and RS has an upgraded 8-inch HD color touchscreen. The Premier is eligible for the Infotainment II Package containing the 8-inch HD color touchscreen plus connected navigation and a premium Bose 7-speaker sound system.
