The Enclave’s trim lineup consists of the Essence, Premium, and Avenir. All have a 3.6-liter V6 engine that makes 310 hp and 266 lb.-ft. of torque; it works with a nine-speed automatic transmission. While front-wheel drive is standard, all-wheel drive is available. In its official fuel economy estimations, the EPA has determined that the FWD Enclave returns an estimated 18 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway, while the AWD version pulls off 17 city/25 highway.
For a base trim, the Essence is considerably high-end with its hands-free liftgate, proximity keyless entry, perforated leather upholstery, remote start, and tri-zone automatic climate control. It also has automatic on/off LED headlights, heated side mirrors, roof rails, push-button ignition, heated and power-adjustable front seats, a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel, wireless phone charge pad, an auto-dimming rearview mirror with HomeLink, Buick’s QuietTuning cabin quiet mode, and six USB ports.
The Premium adds to that list with ventilated front seats, a head-up display, power-folding side mirrors with driver’s side auto-dimming, memory settings (for the side mirrors, driver’s seat, and power-adjustable steering column), an 8-inch driver information display (which is considerably larger than the Essence’s 4.2-inch screen), heated outboard second-row seats, a power-folding third-row bench seat, and a household-style 120V power outlet.
The Avenir represents peak refinement with amenities such as a moonroof, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and the option for a sport-tuned suspension. Many of those high-level luxuries can also be optioned onto the lower trims, allowing buyers to tailor the Enclave to their preferences.
Buick values passenger safety, and as such all 2024 Enclave trims come with a host of active driver-assist technologies. These include forward collision alert, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, front and rear parking sensors, lane change alert with side blind-zone alert, lane keep assist with lane departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert, and a rear seat reminder. Besides that, each trim gets GM’s Safety Alert Seat, which pulses the seat as an extra warning to alert the driver to a potential obstacle, along with Teen Driver technology to help coach new drivers behind the wheel. The Premium and Avenir get a surround-view camera and rear pedestrian alert, which are optional for the Essence. Meanwhile, the Avenir tops off with enhanced automatic emergency braking and adaptive cruise control, both of which are optional for the two trims below it.
The default infotainment system in the 2024 Buick Enclave consists of an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth hands-free phone and audio streaming, a six-speaker audio system, SiriusXM satellite radio, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. Those seeking the utmost in quality sound and convenience should note that the Premium and Avenir come with a high-end 10-speaker Bose audio system and integrated navigation, features that are both available on the Essence.
