GMC sells the Savana Passenger Van in three configurations: The 2500 with a regular (135-inch) wheelbase, the 3500 with a regular wheelbase, and the 3500 with an extended (155-inch) wheelbase. All three versions come as either an LS or LT trim.
The maximum payload capacity for the rear-wheel-drive Savana Passenger Van varies by configuration. The 2500 can handle up to 2,767 pounds, while the 3500 with the regular wheelbase is rated for up to 3,757 pounds. The extended wheelbase 3500 can carry a load of up to 3,427 pounds. All versions come standard with a 4.3-liter V6 gasoline engine that produces 276 horsepower; it’s mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The optional 6.6-liter V8 makes 401 horsepower and comes with a six-speed automatic.
The default seating arrangement for all Savana Passenger Van configurations and trims accommodates 12 with bucket seats in the front, two middle rows for three passengers each, and a four-passenger seat with a 50/50-split in the back). A 15-passenger layout (which adds a third three-seat bench) is optional with the extended-wheelbase 3500.
The LS trim has swing-out passenger-side doors, heated power side mirrors, dual-halogen composite headlights, intermittent windshield wipers, black bumpers, and 16-inch steel wheels. Its cabin attributes are vinyl upholstery, manual air conditioning, rear air conditioning, a rear auxiliary heater, power windows, power locks, rubberized vinyl flooring, and a driver information center. LS buyers can also opt for cloth upholstery, cruise control, and remote keyless entry.
The LT gets those LS options as standard equipment, along with chrome exterior accents, carpeted flooring, a deluxe center console with a swing-out storage bin, and a manual-tilt steering column. Both trims are eligible for these options: remote start, a six-way power driver’s seat, a six-way power front passenger seat, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, steering-wheel-mounted controls (for the audio system and cruise control), and a sliding passenger-side door.
Every Savana Passenger Van comes with multiple airbags (with side-impact airbags for the front row and head-curtain airbags for the outboard seating positions of the first three rows), anti-lock brakes (ABS), hill start assist, electronic stability control, traction control, and a rearview camera. Forward collision alert and lane departure warning are optional on the LS and standard for the LT.
For entertainment, GMC supplies an AM/FM stereo system with dual speakers, MP3 capability, and an auxiliary jack. Both trims also get 12-volt and 120-volt accessory outlets and access to a Wi-Fi hotspot, OnStar, and GMC Connected Services (for emergency assistance and remote vehicle monitoring).
