GMC offers the rear-wheel-drive Savana Cargo Van in two configurations: The 2500 and the 3500. Each version comes as either a regular (135-inch) or extended (155-inch) wheelbase. The regular wheelbase offers 239.4 cubic feet of storage space, which increases to 283.6 cubic feet with the extended wheelbase. The main difference between the 2500 and the 3500 is payload capacity: the 2500 regular wheelbase can haul up to 3,507 pounds (3,285 pounds with the extended wheelbase), while the 3500 regular wheelbase can handle 4,501 pounds (4,282 pounds with the extended wheelbase).
The base powertrain is a 4.3-liter 276 horsepower V6 gasoline engine and an eight-speed automatic transmission. The available 6.6-liter V8 produces 401 horsepower and pairs with a six-speed automatic transmission.
The GMC Savana Cargo Van has a swing-out passenger-side door, heated power side mirrors, a tinted windshield and front-door glass, intermittent windshield wipers, dual-halogen headlights, black-finished front and rear bumpers, and 16-inch steel wheels. Inside, it has dual front high-back bucket seats trimmed in vinyl (cloth is optional), air conditioning, rubberized vinyl flooring, a driver information display, power door locks, power front windows, a cloth headliner, six tie-down points in the cargo area, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror.
GMC offers these options for the 2023 Savana Cargo Van: a six-way power driver’s seat, a six-way power front passenger seat, a second-row bench seat for three (which brings the total vehicle capacity to five), rear air conditioning, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and steering wheel-mounted controls (for the audio system and cruise control). The available Enhanced Convenience Package adds remote keyless entry, remote start, and cruise control. Cruise control and remote start are also available individually.
In addition to appearance upgrades such as a chrome grille and bumpers, the exterior of the Savana Cargo Van can be changed beyond the standard format. For example, the buyer can choose to add rear-door or side-panel windows or a sliding passenger-side door.
The standard safety equipment for the Savanna Cargo Van includes an electronic stability control program with traction control, a multi-airbag occupant protection system, anti-lock brakes (ABS), hill start assist, and a rearview camera.
The Savana Cargo Van is set up with AM/FM radio with dual speakers, MP3 capability, and an auxiliary jack. Access to a Wi-Fi hotspot, OnStar, and GMC Connected Services (for emergency support and vehicle monitoring) is also included. There are 12-volt and 120-volt accessory outlets.
