The 2023 GMC Hummer EV Pickup is built on GM’s advanced Ultium platform, which allows it to travel up to 355 miles on a full charge (with the brand-new 3X trim level). The Ultium platform incorporates three motors, collectively generating 1,000 hp and a massive 11,500 lb.-ft. of torque. Get this: with the innovative Watts to Freedom launch control mode, this monster of a vehicle can go from 0 to 60 in around 3 seconds, a truly remarkable achievement for a vehicle of this size. Plus, the ’23 Hummer EV Pickup will support both Level 1 and Level 2 AC charging, plus 800V DC fast charging. The DC fast charging option can provide up to 100 miles of range in as little as 12 minutes for the Edition 1 and 3X trims.
What’s more, the inclusion of a regenerative braking system (Regen On Demand) captures the kinetic energy created during braking and stores it as electricity, effectively recharging the battery and optimizing range. The degree of regenerative braking can be adjusted using conveniently located steering-wheel paddle shifters. The 2023 Hummer EV Pickup also features One-Pedal Driving, allowing you to accelerate and decelerate using only the gas pedal. This feature harnesses regenerative braking to slow the vehicle down and recapture energy for extended driving range.
The Hummer EV Pickup will be set up with an assortment of exceptional attributes for off-road driving. For example, the CrabWalk system enables four-wheel steering to improve maneuverability on narrow trails, while the extract mode can raise the vehicle’s adaptive air ride suspension by up to 6 inches. The spectacular Ultravision camera system will be part of this, providing a comprehensive view of the surrounding environment through its 18 camera angles. To top it off, the new 3X trim level will be eligible for the Extreme Off-Road Package, which will issue additional underbody cameras and bash plates, rocker protection with integrated assist steps, and 35-inch mud-terrain tires on 18-inch wheels.
The exterior of the Hummer EV Pickup will feature state-of-the-art lighting elements that animate when someone approaches or departs from it, as well as during charging. It will also be come with the highly functional MultiPro tailgate system and a power-operated eTrunk, which will provide convenient storage for the detachable modular Sky Panels. Inside, the ’23 Hummer EV Pickup will offer a cutting-edge infotainment system featuring a 13.4-inch touchscreen that protrudes from the dash, plus a 12.3-inch digital information display. Special Lunar Horizon (black and light grey) and Lunar Shadow (black and taupe) cabin themes will be offered, too.
GM will outfit the inaugural Hummer EV Pickup with a host of active safety technologies, from adaptive cruise control to multiple monitors around the vehicle’s exterior. This will also include a 3-year trial of the innovative Super Cruise hands-free driving system, which is compatible with up to 400,000 miles of roads in the U.S. and Canada.
