As mentioned, GMC offers the 2023 Acadia in four trims: SLE, SLT, AT4, and Denali. The SLE, SLT, and Denali have a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 228 horsepower and 258 lb.-ft. of torque. Standard on the AT4 (and optional on the SLT and Denali) is a 3.6-liter V6 that cranks out 310 horsepower and 271 lb.-ft. of torque. Front-wheel drive (FWD) is the default, while all-wheel drive (AWD) is optional (and standard on the AT4). Every Acadia gets a nine-speed automatic transmission. The maximum towing capacity is 4,000 pounds (when properly equipped with factory trailering options).
Four-cylinder Acadias are EPA-rated to achieve 22 mpg around town and 29 mpg on the open road (or 27 mpg on the highway for AWD). With the V6, the numbers change to 19 mpg city and 27 mpg highway (the highway mpg dips to 26 with AWD).
The SLE is given plenty of comfort and convenience features; some of the highlights are tri-zone automatic climate control, LED headlights, and heated power side mirrors. It also gets a four-way manual driver’s seat, premium cloth upholstery, a tilt-and-telescopic steering column, rear privacy glass, proximity keyless entry, push-button start, a 4.2-inch driver information display, and 18-inch alloy wheels. Among the many option packages available with the SLE is the Driver Convenience Package for heated front seats, an eight-way power driver’s seat with lumbar controls, a hands-free power liftgate, remote start, and a 120-volt outlet (this equipment is standard on higher trims).
The SLT is upgraded with perforated leather-trimmed seats, brushed-aluminum roof-mounted side rails, LED fog lights, and a wrapped steering wheel. This trim’s options include the Preferred Package (driver’s memory system, heated and ventilated front seats, front passenger seat lumbar controls, heated outboard second-row seats, a power tilt/telescopic steering column, a heated steering wheel, and heated power side mirrors with a power-folding feature). It’s also eligible for the Technology Package (head-up display and surround-view monitor).
The AT4 is enhanced for trail driving with an upgraded AWD system, 17-inch aluminum wheels with all-terrain tires, hill descent control, hill start assist, and a high-capacity alternator. It also has black exterior accents and premium cloth upholstery (perforated leather optional). The Preferred Package and Technology Package that provides a head-up display and surround-view monitor (these items are standard on the Denali).
GMC continues to offer the Denali trim as the ultimate Acadia with premium features such as everything from the Preferred Package and Technology Package, plus perforated leather seating, wireless device charging, a trim-specific grille, unique exterior trim, and 20-inch aluminum wheels. The Denali has its own version of the Technology Package, which will add a digital rearview mirror with a camera washer and enhanced automatic emergency braking. Also exclusive to this trim, the Ultimate Package includes everything from the Denali Technology Package plus a dual-panel sunroof, adaptive ride control (AWD only), adaptive cruise control, and trailering equipment. The sunroof and trailering package are available in the lower trims as individual options.
In addition to being equipped with front and rear parking sensors and a high-definition rearview camera, all versions of the 2023 Acadia come with Pro Safety Plus. It’s a comprehensive collection of the latest driver and safety technologies, including forward collision alert, automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian braking, lane keep assist with lane departure warning, lane change alert with side blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, following distance indicator, and Intellibeam automatic high beams. All trims but the SLE are eligible for HD Surround Vision, which shows an overhead view of the vehicle in low-speed situations, such as backing out of a parking space. The Denali alone can be equipped with enhanced automatic emergency braking.
An 8-inch color touchscreen is the control center for the Acadia’s infotainment system, which contains Bluetooth (for phone and audio streaming), SiriusXM satellite radio, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and multiple USB ports (including a third-row connection). The base SLE has a six-speaker audio system while the SLT, AT4, and Denali get an eight-speaker Bose upgrade. All Acadias also come with access to a Wi-Fi hotspot, OnStar, and GMC Connected services.
