The Buick Envision is a compact crossover that made in three compelling trim levels: Preferred, Essence, and Avenir. Their turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine whisks out 228 hp and 258 lb.-ft. of torque and is coupled to a nine-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard, but all-wheel drive is available. As per EPA estimates, the FWD models return 23 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway. With AWD, they achieve 22 city/29 highway.
Every edition of the 2023 Envision is nicely equipped. The Preferred has LED headlights and daytime running lights, roof rails, heated side mirrors, keyless entry, push-button ignition, two 12-volt power outlets, two USB charging ports, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and a 60/40-split fold-down rear seatback. The Essence gains a hands-free liftgate, position memory for the side mirrors and driver’s seat, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and a power-adjustable front passenger’s seat. The Avenir tops the range with a continuous damping suspension (which provides a smoother ride), a rear camera mirror with a built-in washer, enhanced LED headlights, a panoramic sunroof, a head-up display, a universal garage door opener, a 110-volt power outlet, a wireless phone charger, ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, and a cargo cover.
Plenty of commute-enhancing driving aids are included in the ’23 Envision. The Preferred and Essence come with automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian braking, lane keep assist with lane departure warning, forward collision alert, a following distance indicator, automatic high beams, lane change alert with side blind-zone alert, and rear cross-traffic alert. The Avenir gets even more: adaptive cruise control, enhanced automatic emergency braking, automatic parking assist, and a surround-view camera.
Buick makes it easy to stay connected in the Envision. The Preferred has an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with all of the requisite components: wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth hands-free phone and audio streaming, and SiriusXM satellite radio. The Essence and Avenir trade the 8-inch touchscreen for a larger one (10.2 inches), and the Avenir upgrades its audio to a top-of-the-line nine-speaker Bose sound system.
Buick offers a number of packages to add even more desirable features to the Envision. Every trim is eligible for the Premium Seat Package, which issues additional power adjustments for the front seats; when this package is added to the Avenir it also provides a massaging driver’s seat. The Preferred can be ordered with the Comfort and Convenience Package, which bundles a hands-free liftgate, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, remote start, dual-zone automatic climate control, a 10.2-inch infotainment touchscreen, and a seven-speaker sound system. The Essence qualifies for the Technology II Package, which contains adaptive cruise control, enhanced automatic emergency braking, automatic parking assist, enhanced LED headlights, a rear camera mirror with a built-in washer, and a continuous damping suspension. Finally, the Sport Touring Package for the Preferred and Essence will embrace a more daring appearance as it blacks out the exterior and adds unique ST badging, a mesh grille with tinted chrome inserts, aluminum sport pedals, and red-stitched interior accents. Besides that, it comes with a cargo cover.
