2022 GMC Yukon for Sale in Johnston, RI
Trims and Powertrains
GMC makes the stalwart Yukon in four trims: SLE, SLT, AT4, and Denali. The default engine is a 5.3-liter V8 that produces 355 hp and 383 lb.-ft. The SLE, SLT, and Denali qualify for a 3.0-liter Duramax turbo diesel that makes 277 hp and 460 lb.-ft. of torque, and the AT4 can be ordered with a heartier 6.2-liter V8 that stirs 420 hp and 460 lb.-ft. of torque (it’s standard in the Denali). All three powerplants pair with a 10-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel drive is standard on the SLE, SLT, and Denali, but four-wheel drive – which is standard in the AT4 – is optional. When it’s equipped with the combination of RWD, the HD Trailering Package, and the 5.3-liter Duramax, the ’22 Yukon can tow up to 8,400 lb.
Equipment by Trim
The ’22 Yukon is a premium vehicle, and so it’s no surprise that the base SLE comes with LED headlights and daytime running lights, LED fog lights, heated side mirrors, roof rails, deep-tinted rear glass, rain-sensing wipers, keyless entry, remote ignition, tri-zone automatic climate control, power-adjustable front seats, a 12-inch digital gauge cluster, three power outlets (one 12-volt and two 120-volt), six USB ports (five type-C and one type-A), illuminated vanity mirrors, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and manual folding 60/40-split second- and third-row seats. With the available front-row bench seat, the SLE can seat up to nine passengers. The SLT receives a hands-free liftgate, bright doorsill plates, position memory settings for the driver’s seat, heated and ventilated front seats, perforated leather seating, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and a wireless phone charger. Second-row bucket seats are offered, meaning that those passengers get a higher degree of comfort but seating capacity drops to seven.
The go-anywhere AT4 is supplied with a series of mechanical upgrades, including a two-speed transfer case, a heavy-duty air filter, hill descent control, GM’s exclusive Magnetic Ride Control (MagneRide) technology, a front skid plate, and red recovery hooks. It also gets 20-inch wheels with all-terrain tires, an auto-dimming driver’s side mirror, a special front fascia with a high approach angle, a power tilt-and-telescopic and heated steering wheel, heated and power-operated second-row outboard seats, and power third-row seats. The deluxe Denali lacks the AT4’s trailblazing enhancements, but it otherwise rises to the top with a dual exhaust, a 15-inch head-up display, a power-sliding center console, and second-row bucket seats. Many of those top-tier amenities can be ordered as options for the less expensive trims.
Active Driving Aids
The ’22 Yukon comes with a confidence-inspiring roster of advanced safety technologies. The SLE receives forward collision alert with automatic emergency braking and front pedestrian braking, front and rear parking sensors, automatic high beams, lane keep assist with lane departure warning, and a rear seat reminder. The SLT and AT4 add lane change alert with side blind-zone alert and rear cross-traffic alert, while the Denali has a surround-view camera system and rear pedestrian alert. Teen Driver and Buckle to Drive are also standard with each trim. Teen Driver helps young drivers form safe habits behind the wheel, while Buckle to Drive prevents the driver from operating the vehicle if their seat belt isn’t latched.
Multimedia and Entertainment
The SLE gets an infotainment system with a reconfigurable 10.2-inch touchscreen, built-in Google services, Bluetooth hands-free phone and audio streaming, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, voice recognition, a six-speaker audio system, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and SiriusXM satellite radio. The SLT and AT4 advance to a nine-speaker Bose audio system, while the Denali shows off a 14-speaker Bose for an unbeatable listening experience.
One of the ’22 Yukon’s many standout qualities is its range of packages. The SLE is eligible for the GMC Pro Safety Plus Package, which contains lane change alert with side blind-zone alert and rear cross-traffic alert. The SLT can be ordered with the SLT Luxury Package, which includes a surround-view camera system, rear pedestrian alert, memory settings (for the power-folding side mirrors, power steering wheel, and driver’s seat), heated second-row outboard seats, power-operated second- and third-row seats, and a heated steering wheel. Two significant packages are available for the AT4. The Technology Package issues a head-up display, a surround-view camera system, and rear pedestrian alert, while the Premium Capability Package supplies an adaptive air ride suspension (which raises the vehicle by two inches) and an electronic limited-slip differential.
The Denali can be ordered with the Advanced Technology Package, which bundles adaptive cruise control, enhanced automatic emergency braking, reverse automatic braking, a rear camera mirror with washer, and an advanced security system. The Denali Premium package contains the contents of the Advanced Technology Package along with a panoramic sunroof, power-retractable assist steps with illuminated perimeter lighting, and 22-inch wheels. Other packages worth mentioning include Max Trailering (for all trims) and Enhanced Trailering Technology (for the AT4). The Max Trailering Package will furnish a trailer brake controller, trailer side blind-zone alert (for the SLT, AT4, and Denali), hitch guidance with hitch view, a heavy-duty cooling system, and a two-speed transfer case for the SLE and SLT. Finally, the Enhanced Trailering Technology Package will issue additional camera features.
