2022 Buick Encore for Sale in Johnston, RI
The Buick Encore broke new ground when it debuted ten years ago. While a number of subcompact crossover models were already on the road, Buick was the first to package this size vehicle with features that approached luxury level. From the outset, buyers have appreciated a perch that higher than a sedan’s, plus the fact that the Encore can easily handle tight spaces. At the same time, five-passenger seating and convenient cargo access ramp up this model’s versatility. In addition, Buick has added a dampening suspension to ensure a smooth and comfortable ride wherever you’re driving. Among the changes for model year 2022, the engine puts out an additional 17 horses, and the Base trim level has been dropped, leaving just the Preferred.
Choosing a 2022 Encore is simple, as it’s available solely in the well-equipped Preferred level. The aforementioned 17-horsepower bump adds some pep that’s noticeable in a vehicle of this size: the turbocharged 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine makes 155 horsepower and pairs up with a six-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel-drive (FWD) is standard, but all-wheel drive is optional. According to the EPA’s official fuel economy estimates, a FWD Encore will get 24 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway. That changes to 23 city/30 highway with AWD.
Standard Features and Options
Buick is known for being an upscale brand, and as such, the Encore’s sole trim is well equipped even before any options are considered. Halogen headlamps and LED daytime running lights dominate its forward appearance. It also has heated power side mirrors, rear privacy glass, proximity keyless entry, and 18-inch aluminum wheels. The ’22 Encore’s cabin boasts seats in a mix of premium leatherette and fabric, a six-way power driver’s seat, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel with a tilt and telescopic column. Its other standard equipment highlights are push-button start, air conditioning, a 4.2-inch driver information display, QuietTuning technology (to minimize cabin noise), a 60/40-split folding rear seatback, and a sliding cover for the cargo area. Buyers can opt for a power moonroof and upgraded 18-inch aluminum alloy wheels, along with a choice driver-assist technology packages (see the next section for details).
Advanced driver aids are offered for the Encore as two separate bundles. The Safety Package provides side blind-zone alert and rear cross-traffic alert, while the Safety Package II adds forward collision warning, lane departure warning, front and rear parking sensors, and automatic windshield wipers.
Connectivity and Communications
A center console-mounted 7-inch color touchscreen is the command center for the Encore’s communication and entertainment. This system compiles Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth connectivity, SiriusXM satellite radio, dual USB ports, and a sound system with six speakers. A Wi-Fi hotspot, GM’s OnStar telematics, and Buick Connected Services also come standard.
