2021 Chevrolet Traverse for Sale in Johnston, RI
The 2021 Chevrolet Traverse is a large crossover – or you can call it an SUV – that’s big on two things: style and space. With its three rows of seating, this sleek and luxurious seven- or eight-passenger stalwart delivers a best-in-class 98.2 cubic feet of cargo space. What’s more, its standard V6 engine produces a hearty amount of power, and its high-quality interior is loaded with top-end features for comfort and convenience.
Trims and Mechanical Basics
The ’21 Traverse comes in seven trim levels: L, LS, LT Cloth, LT Leather, RS, Premier, and High Country. All have the same 3.6-liter V6 engine that makes 310 hp and 266 lb.-ft. of torque; it’s coupled to a nine-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard and all-wheel drive is available for all trims except for the base L, which only comes with FWD. A towing capacity up to 5,000 pounds is possible for a 2021 Traverse that’s properly equipped with the factory trailer hitch and related accessories.
Standard Features and Options
The base L has 18-inch wheels, automatic headlights, heated side mirrors, tri-zone automatic climate control, a rearview camera, USB ports, an onboard Wi-Fi hotspot, and a second-row bench seat. The LS adds deep-tinted rear privacy glass. The LT Cloth gets fog lights, side mirrors with turn-signal indicators, roof rails, a power driver’s seat, and second-row captain’s chairs (which reduce seating capacity to seven). It’s also the lowest trim eligible for the factory towing setup. The LT Leather includes a power liftgate, leather seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, heated front seats, a power front passenger’s seat, and remote start.
The RS gets the same equipment as the LT Leather, plus the Chevy Safety Assist and LT Premium packages. It also has 20-inch dark-painted wheels, blacked-out styling elements, and a heated steering wheel. The Premier receives the heated steering wheel along with LED headlights, auto-dimming side mirrors, a hands-free liftgate, a power tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel, ventilated front seats, a wireless smartphone charge pad, and heated rear seats. AWD versions of the Premier are equipped with a trailer hitch, Hitch Guidance, and a heavy-duty cooling system. The High Country gets that trailering setup regardless of drivetrain, along with the Dual SkyScape two-panel sunroof and power-folding third-row seats.
Packages and Redline Edition
There are a few noteworthy packages available for the ’21 Traverse. The first is the Chevy Safety Assist Package (offered for the LT Cloth and LT Leather trims), which provides automatic emergency braking, forward collision alert, front pedestrian braking, a following distance indicators, lane keep assist with lane departure warning, and automatic high beams. The second is the LT Premium Package (offered for the LT Leather trim only). It has an upgraded infotainment system with an 8-inch touchscreen, navigation, a 10-speaker Bose sound system, a surround-view camera system, a 120-volt power outlet, 20-inch wheels, and a rear camera mirror (which toggles over from the conventional rearview mirror and a rearview camera mirror display for a wider view and increased safety). The Redline Edition is set apart by exterior elements all in black: window trim, 20-inch wheels, Chevy bowtie emblems, grille, fog light bezels, and lower moldings.
Technology for Safety and Connectivity
All trims come with a number of airbags and other passive safety features. The LT Leather and above trims also get some active safety technologies: lane change alert with side blind-zone alert, a passenger sensing system, rear cross-traffic alert, rear park assist, and a rear seat reminder. The Chevy Safety Assist Package, which is available for the two LT trims, provides automatic emergency braking, forward collision alert, front pedestrian braking, a following distance indicator, lane keep assist with lane departure warning, and automatic high beams. These features become standard at the RS trim level.
The optional LT Premium Package (exclusive to the LT Leather) yields a surround-view camera system, which is also standard on the RS and remaining trims. The High Country adds adaptive cruise control and enhanced automatic emergency braking. Chevy’s Teen Driver system is also issued for all trims to encourage better habits for young drivers on the road by recording data (such as speed) and generating a “report card” for a parent or guardian to review with as a teaching aid later.
The L and LS get an infotainment system with a 7-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth hands-free phone and audio streaming, and both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The LT Cloth has satellite radio, and the LT Leather upgrades to a higher-definition 8-inch touchscreen. With the LT Premium Package, integrated navigation and a 10-speaker audio system will be included; they’re both standard in the RS and above.
