2021 Chevrolet Equinox for Sale in Johnston, RI
The 2021 Chevrolet Equinox returns after a bit of a makeover, with refreshed front and rear fascias, a trapezoid-style grille, narrow LED headlights, and a distinctive tailgate. The styling of the exterior matches the innovative interior with modern technology features, including standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. This is a well thought-out midsized crossover that suits singles, couples, and families equally well. It’s great for road trips or supply runs, with up to 63.9 cubic feet of cargo space when the 60/40-split second-row bench seat is folded flat; there’s also a hidden storage compartment under the rear cargo floor to keep valuables out of sight.
Trims and Mechanical Basics
The five-passenger 2021 Equinox is made in four trims: L, LS, LT, and Premier, with special Midnight and Sport editions available on LT models and a Redline Edition available on Premier. They all have a 1.5-liter turbo four-cylinder engine that makes 170 horsepower and 203 pounds-feet of torque and is coupled with a six-speed automatic. Front-wheel drive is standard, but you can opt for four-wheel drive on the LS, LT, and Premier. With front-wheel drive, the 2021 Equinox gets an EPA-estimated 26 mpg in city driving and 31 mpg on the highway, while the AWD model gets 25 city/30 highway.
Standard Features and Options
The highlights of the entry-level L’s standard features are Intellibeam (high beam assist) headlights, active noise cancellation, a rear vision camera, keyless entry/start, and 17-inch alloy wheels. This trim has its limitations in that the color options are limited to Silver Ice Metallic and Summit White, and AWD isn’t available. The LS expands on the color options with Nightfall Gray Metallic, Mosaic Black Metallic, and Midnight Blue Metallic and adds a compact spare tire, carpeted floor mats, and eligibility for AWD and some optional equipment packages.
The LT adds a 4.2-inch driver information screen, body-colored mirror caps, rear-window tint, HID headlamps, and an 8-way power driver seat, as well as a handy overhead storage bin for sunglasses. LT buyers can choose from quite a few optional equipment bundles, such as the Leather Package, which adds perforated Jet Black leather seats, position memory for the driver’s seat and side mirrors, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and heated power-adjustable exterior mirrors that are also auto-dimming.
The Premier has an upscale look, with LED head- and taillights, 18-inch bright machined-aluminum wheels with sparkle silver pockets, and body-colored door handles with chrome surround. Inside, it gets perforated leather seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, ambient interior lighting, power lumbar control for the driver’s seat, dual-zone automatic climate control, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and wireless smartphone charging. A hands-free gesture liftgate is available.

There are a few noteworthy packages available for the ’21 Traverse. The first is the Chevy Safety Assist Package (offered for the LT Cloth and LT Leather trims), which provides automatic emergency braking, forward collision alert, front pedestrian braking, a following distance indicators, lane keep assist with lane departure warning, and automatic high beams. The Redline Edition is set apart by exterior elements all in black: window trim, 20-inch wheels, Chevy bowtie emblems, grille, fog light bezels, and lower moldings.
